About S.A.F.E.

The Structure Assessments for Fire Environments (S.A.F.E.) program helps identify and mitigate wildfire risks in our community. By assessing properties and providing recommendations, we aim to create a more resilient community against the threat of wildfires.

How It Works

Properties are assessed based on various factors including defensible space, building materials, access routes, and vegetation management. Each property is assigned a risk level from Low to Extreme, helping prioritize mitigation efforts.

Understanding Risk Levels

Low Risk

Minimal wildfire concerns, good defensible space, and fire-resistant construction.

Moderate Risk

Some concerns present, but overall manageable with specific improvements.

High Risk

Significant concerns requiring prompt attention and mitigation.

Extreme Risk

Critical wildfire danger requiring immediate action and priority attention.

Why Assessment Matters

Wildfire risk assessment is crucial for protecting lives, property, and natural resources in our community. Understanding your property's risk level allows you to take targeted actions that can significantly reduce the impact of a wildfire event.

Our assessments focus on three key zones around your property:
